Finding The Right Bathroom Mirror

!±8± Finding The Right Bathroom Mirror

Bathroom mirrors are a crucial part to the home, but often are forgotten about or not properly considered when the bathroom is being renovated. They are no longer just a mirrored cabinet or a square fixture on the wall. In fact, bathroom mirrors now come in so many shapes and sizes that they can be a centerpiece of the bathroom in themselves. Mirrors go right back to the Middle Ages when they were used by Greco-Romans. Yes, they were only a convex, disc of metal, maybe bronze tin or sliver, but they created a reflection from their polished surface which grew in popularity, resulting in them coming into widespread production in Venice in the 16th Century.

The most popular type of mirrors in this modern-day and age is lit mirrors. Either L.E.D. back-lit or simple side lights help illuminate the room and offer a much clearer reflection, quite the advancement from their earlier predecessors. It doesn't stop there though. Mirrors are constantly advancing in technology, and just when we think there is nothing more that can be done with sheet of glass with a reflective coating, the bathroom designers and manufacturers surprise us again and again.

Bathroom technology is advancing quickly. Shaver sockets are no longer just a luxury to enjoy in a hotel room; they have become a necessity in the everyday home as well. The bathroom mirror designers haven't stopped there though. Now you can enjoy listening to the radio whilst beautifying yourself. Built in radios are increasing in popularity in bathroom mirrors. More people want to enjoy their music whilst unwinding in the bath, and what better way than to listen to your favourite radio station or even your own MP3 player used with an FM transmitter.

Mirrors make the whole bathroom experience much more enjoyable. Probably the most under-rated piece of bathroom furniture they reflect any natural or artificial lighting, creating a very spacious feel, even in a smaller bathroom space. This works especially well with any bright ceramics, tiling and wall colour. White and cream tones give a much cleaner, fresher feel, providing you with a much-needed tranquil environment to enjoy time and time again.

So, when it comes to buying a new bathroom mirror, don't just go for the first one you find that's relatively cheap and would look mediocre in your bathroom. There is enough available for you to invest some time in choosing the right one for you and your home.
